What is a CSV viewer?
A CSV viewer lets you open and inspect CSV data in a readable row-and-column table without first importing the file into spreadsheet or database software.
With MK Tech Tools, you can upload a CSV file or paste CSV text, then browse the data directly in your browser. You can also search rows and sort individual columns.
How to view a CSV file online
- Upload a CSV file or paste CSV data into the input area.
- Select the delimiter used by the data.
- Keep First row is header enabled if the first row contains column names.
- Click View CSV.
- Search the table or click a column heading to sort it.
CSV viewer example
A CSV file might contain:
name,age,city Ali,32,Islamabad Sara,28,Lahore David,41,London
The viewer turns this text into a table with separate columns for name, age and city, making the information much easier to inspect.
What is a CSV file?
CSV stands for comma-separated values. It is a plain-text format commonly used to store and exchange tabular data.
CSV files are widely supported by spreadsheet applications, databases, statistical software, business systems and data processing tools.
CSV delimiters
Although CSV traditionally uses commas, tabular text files can use several delimiters. This viewer supports comma, semicolon, tab and pipe-separated data.
| Delimiter | Character | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Comma | , | Standard CSV files |
| Semicolon | ; | Common in some regional exports |
| Tab | TAB | TSV and tab-delimited data |
| Pipe | | | System exports and log-style data |
Search and sort CSV data
After opening the CSV, use the search box to find text across all columns. You can also click a column heading to sort values in ascending or descending order.
Numeric columns are sorted numerically when possible, while text columns are sorted alphabetically.
Does the CSV viewer upload my file?
No. CSV parsing and table rendering happen locally in your browser. The CSV file does not need to be uploaded to MK Tech Tools for viewing.
