Analyze CSV and Excel data online
Ask Your Data is a browser-based analysis workspace for people who need quick answers from structured datasets without opening a full statistical package. Upload a CSV or Excel file, review the detected variables, assign readable labels and run common analyses with simple buttons.
It is especially useful for survey data, monitoring data, research datasets, administrative records and spreadsheet-based reporting where users need frequencies, summaries, cross-tabulations, grouped averages, correlations or a quick review of missing values.
What can you analyze?
Frequency tables
Count how often each value or category appears and calculate percentages.
Descriptive statistics
Review count, mean, median, minimum, maximum and standard deviation for numeric variables.
Cross-tabulation
Compare two categorical variables using counts and row percentages.
Compare means
Compare the average of a numeric variable across groups such as gender or province.
Correlation
Measure the linear relationship between two numeric variables using Pearson correlation.
Missing-data summary
See missing counts and percentages for every variable in your dataset.
Designed for coded survey variables
Many survey files contain headings such as Q1, Q2, Q3 or coded names that are difficult to remember. Ask Your Data keeps the original variable name while allowing you to assign a friendly label such as Age, Gender, Province or Employment Status.
| Original variable | Friendly label | Example values |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 | Age | 22, 35, 41 |
| Q2 | Gender | Male, Female |
| Q3 | Province | Punjab, Sindh, KP |
Browser-based and privacy-friendly
The current analysis engine works in your browser. Your CSV or Excel dataset does not need to be uploaded to a statistical server for these calculations. This helps keep the tool fast, inexpensive and suitable for routine exploratory analysis.

Purpose and limitations
